> Chunghwa Telecom Deploys AnaCise CSA GigE Handheld Instrument to Address Triple Play Service Implementation Challenges

27 Jan 2008

AnaCise Testnology today announce that the major triple play service provider in Taiwan, Chunghwa Telecom has selected and deployed 40 sets AnaCise CSA as part of its ongoing commitment to provide outstanding quality of service and quality of experience to the Triple Play Services.

Already benefiting from user friendly yet comprehensive GUI with simple upgradeable modular design of the CSA, Chunghwa Telecom decides on CSA GigE testers again as add-on to the previous substantial order of ADSL testers.

Chunghwa Telecom has focused to develop the technology of Digital Convergence and Service Integration for several years, and it is the first to provide real Triple Play Service over a subscribed link such as xDSL and FTTx. Chunghwa Telecom invests in areas of R&D in Optical Network Technologies (such as 3G, NGN, FTTx, IMS and NG OSS), seamless IPTV/FMC integration services, and created customer-oriented management system to train themselves capable of analyzing BLUE OCEAN STRATEGY while seeking new opportunities.

Striving to increase customer's service quality, Chunghwa Telecom needs a future proof tester to address the forward-looking expansion plan into the future of NGN deployment and enhanced Triple-Play services. CSA with GigE PIM emerged as the all-rounded field testing winner playing an active operational role in the performance evaluation/testing of Ethernet Network and Triple Play Services including IPTV, VoIP and Data. CSA being a modular platform providing Gigabit Ethernet, ADSL2/2+ and VDSL1/2 PIM (Platform Interface Module), it significantly reduces CAPEX.

Chunghwa Telecom needs to be conscientious in selecting the right Gigabit Ethernet tester since their field engineers need a tool to verify those new installed Ethernet links. Field engineers not only need to verify the performance and throughput to meet the configuration and specification demanded by customers, but also have to certify that all Triple Play Services delivered in optimal over the new installed link. With AnaCise CSA and Gigabit Ethernet PIM, field engineers are capable of performing tests like as BERT and IP QoS to validate the throughput and quality of Ethernet link.

With complete Triple Play Service Analysis software applications, field engineers do not need to drag along cumbersome equipments like laptop, hub, SIP phone, STB and even TV set to measure Triple Play services. CSA TPAS-Data can be managed to run PING, Trace Route, WEB and FTP upload/download tests Internet Data Access. TPAS-EIPA provides further way for troubleshooting which allows engineers to capture real user traffic and decode, and the captured data can be recorded for further analysis.

Furthermore, CSA TPAS-IPTV simulates a STB to receive IPTV video channel measuring its quality while monitoring real IPTV traffic to derive MoS value. Similarly, field engineers can make SIP calls via TPAS-VoIP SIP to verify their services, while TPAS-VoIP works as an expert analysis to derive MoS value through analyzing user VoIP traffic. These active tests and passive monitor give aid to certify the availability of services which is so called QoS and QoE to better realize user experience.

AnaCise congratulates and appreciates Chunghwa Telecom continual confirmation in our values, quality and service assurance products from the past to years ahead with their ever improving NGN and Triple-Play services. Chunghwa Telecom recent deployment of AnaCise CSA GigE testers signals another lap of forward looking convergent technologies assurance partnership altogether.
